Tyrannosaurus Rex, often abbreviated as T. Rex, is one of the most well-known and studied dinosaur species from the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 68 to 66 million years ago. It belonged to a group of large theropod dinosaurs characterized by their bipedal stance, powerful jaws, and carnivorous diet. T. Rex is estimated to have reached lengths of up to 40 feet and stood about 12 feet tall at the hips, making it one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs.

The name Tyrannosaurus Rex translates to "tyrant lizard king," reflecting its status as a top predator of its time. Its most distinctive feature is its large skull, which could reach lengths of 5 feet and was equipped with numerous sharp, serrated teeth. These teeth, some measuring over 9 inches in length, were designed for crushing bones and tearing flesh, indicating T. Rex's adaptation as a formidable hunter.

Tyrannosaurus Rex possessed a robust and muscular body, supported by strong hind limbs that enabled rapid movement and agility. Despite its powerful jaws and impressive size, recent research suggests that T. Rex may have been capable of speeds up to 25 miles per hour in short bursts, making it a formidable predator in its ecosystem.
