Stegosaurus (Papo)

This Papo Stegosaurus was released in 2019 with updated colors. Voted best Stegosaurus figure of 2022. The great texture on this figure was the deciding factor.

Papo Stegosaurus Review:

This is one of the largest Stegosaurs figures currently available and is also our favorite model. We selected this as the best Stegosaurus figure in 2022. Just a great model. It was re-introduced in 2019 with this new color (previous version was green). The back plates and tail spikes are well shaped and have nice detailing.

The overall paint job is well applied and the striping adds nice "depth." The texture on this figure is amazing. Many of the other figures are smooth or have limited texture, this figure is really differentiated by its great texture. One of only a few Stegosaurus models with an open mouth. If we had to pick only one Stegosaurus, this is the figure we would choose.

Stegosaurus ('roof-lizard') is a genus of herbivorous, four-legged, thyreophorans from the Late Jurassic, characterized by the distinctive kite-shaped upright plates along their backs and spikes on their tails. Fossils of this dinosaur have been found in the western United States and in Portugal.

The Stegosaurus is one of the most easily identifiable dinosaurs, due to the distinctive double row of kite-shaped plates rising vertically along the rounded back and the two pairs of long spikes extending horizontally near the end of the tail. Stegosaurus could grow up to 30 ft in length and 5 - 8 metric tons in weight.
