Schleich Pachycephalosaurus Review:
Schleich did a nice job on this figure. The orange base paint with red highlights stands out. The head is relatively large and has a lot of nice bumps and details - although the face is a little "boxy" looking. This figure has large feet and stands well. The Schleich Pachycephalosaurus is the largest of the Pachycephalosaurus toy figures currently available. Overall a good representation of a Pachycephalosaurus dinosaur.
Pachycephalosaurus Dinosaur Facts:
Pachycephalosaurus means "thick headed lizard." This thick domed skull is the primary distinguishing feature of this dinosaur. The common perception is that the dome was used for head-butting, however evidence shows that the skull likely was not thick enough to support this activity. The Pachycephalosaurus lived in what is now North America. In the U.S. remains have been found in Wyoming, Montana, and South Dakota. The Pachycephalosaurus reached up to 15 feet in length and weighed up to 1,000 lbs. The Dracorex and Stygimoloch are argued to be younger phases of the Pachycephalosaurus.
The Schleich Pachycephalosaurus is hand painted and made of durable synthetic material.
