Hydrotherosaurus, meaning "water beast lizard," is a genus of plesiosaur that lived approximately 80 million years ago in the Western Interior Seaway, which once covered parts of North America.

Its long neck and sharp teeth made it well-adapted for hunting fish and other small marine prey in the shallow waters of the Western Interior Seaway.

As a marine reptile, Hydrotherosaurus spent most of its life in the water, using its powerful flippers to propel itself through the ocean and its streamlined body to navigate with precision. It likely relied on its keen senses and sharp vision to locate and capture prey in the murky depths.

Its streamlined body was propelled through the water by four flippers and it had a short pointed tail.
